Mansfield town centre assault left man with serious head injuries

The victim, a man in his 20s, was hurt during a disturbance in Toothill Lane, at around 2.30am on Sunday morning.
He remains in hospital and is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

Hide AdA 24-year-old man was arrested on (Tuesday morning on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody.
Detectives are working to understand what happened and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Matthew Dumbrell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a very serious assault that has left a young man in hospital with potentially life-altering injuries.
“We believe that this incident was witnessed by various members of the public – some of whom may be known to the person or people responsible."

“We would be particularly like to speak to anybody who may have mobile phone footage of what happened.”
