A man who has been accused of manslaughter has had his case transferred to Derby Crown Court.

Grzegorz Betleja, 28, of Nursery Avenue, Sutton-in-Ashfield, allegedly struck a colleague with a fatal punch following a day at work.

Chesterfield magistrates’ court previously heard, during Betleja’s first court appearance, how he allegedly punched 39-year-old Jacek Golubek just after 5pm, on March 21. The defendant and deceased were Polish national, agency workers based at Wanzl, on Sawpit Lane industrial estate, Tibshelf.

It is claimed there had been a dispute and Mr Betleja allegedly punched Mr Golubek on a grass bank near the estate entrance. Mr Golubek suffered a brain injury and was pronounced clinically dead on March 22. Betleja has not yet entered a plea. His case was considered at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday, and adjourned and transferred to Derby Crown Court for July 18.
