“We waited 30 minutes for the police to arrive.
“The bypass was closed during the operation.
“The woman suffered chest injuries and was clearly in pain and shook up.
“In my view this is unacceptable - not even a paramedic came.”
East Midlands Ambulance service said the 999 emergency call was received at 12.00 on Friday 16 February 2018, adding: “ Our control centre dispatched a doctor and ambulance crew to the scene. The doctor arrived on scene at 14.36 and the ambulance crew at 14.59.”

Hide AdGreg Cox, General Manager for Nottinghamshire at East Midlands Ambulance Service said:
“We always aim to give the best possible service to our patients and I am sorry that we were not able to get to this patient faster.
“When the collision happened our ambulances were already very busy dealing with a high number of emergency calls. We have to prioritise people whose life is reported to be at immediate risk.
“The patient involved in the collision was not reported to be in a life threatening condition. Our Emergency Operations Centre sent a doctor and ambulance crew to the scene, and the patient was taken to Kings Mill Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
“Any delay is unacceptable and we are sorry, this is not the service we aim to provide to our patients.”
