The Shirebrook squad had been boosted in the week with the arrival of Eddie Newsome from Penistone Church and Brad Newby from Clipstone FC.

As the game got underway Shirebrook made a bright start and almost took the lead in the second minute when Ben Hartley’s shot from the edge of the box was tipped over.

Shirebrook were thankful to keeper Harrison Kissane in the 15th minute when he produced a fantastic save to keep out Daniel Evison shot from just inside the box.

The visitors almost took the lead in the 25th minute when Brad Newby cross from the left found Kian Tansley at the back post who headed just over the bar.

On the stroke of half time Shirebrook had their best chance of the half when Grant saw a shot tipped over.

The second half was only six minutes old when Shirebrook took the lead after Joe Shaw took aim from distance but his shot took a massive deflection off a Louth player and left the goalkeeper wrong footed.

Louth were causing problems for the Shirebrook back line as Bradley Coulom twice headed over from different free kicks and Branden Parker also saw an effort hit the post.

Shirebrook task of seeing out the game looked to have got slightly easier in the 76th minute when Louth were reduced to 10 men after Harry Crawford was given his second yellow card for bringing down Warwick Wood just outside the box.

Shirebrook almost made that man advantage count minutes later when Haris Diabagate forced the Louth keeper into a save but in the 87th minute Shirebrook were hit with a sucker punch when Louth levelled the score when Krisztian Gagyi’s inswinging free kick went over everyone and nestled into the top corner.
