Foster sees red as Shirebrook Town are beaten by Staveley
Shirebrook Town saw their unbeaten start to the league season ended after a derby defeat to Staveley MW.

They went into the game off the back of their first defeat of the season in the League Cup to Step 5 Sherwood Colliery in mid-week.
As the game got underway Shirebrook made a rapid start and almost took the lead in the first minute when Kian Tansley saw a shot tipped wide.
In the seventh minute Shirebrook wondered how the ball didn’t end up in the net when Tansley squared the ball to Joe Shaw on the six yard line but the Staveley keeper some how managed to tip it away for a corner. From that resulting corner Joe Shaw’s in swinging corner hit the outside of the post.
Shirebrook almost found themselves behind in the 15th minute when a mix up at the back created an opportunity for Jack Deakin but he could only fire his shot into the side netting.
The deadlock was broken in the 26th minute when Liam Childes’ corner caused problems in the box and Lewis Foster bundled the ball over the line.
Shirebrook were soon back on the attack with Blaise Duruaku, Kian Tansley and Ben Hartley having chances before Joe Shaw saw a curling free-kick brilliantly saved. From the resulting corner Josh Tate saw a header smack the cross bar.
The second half was only five minutes old when the big talking point of the game took place when Shirebrook were reduced to 10 men after Lewis Foster was given a straight red for something he said to a team mate that the referee deemed offensive.
Now Shirebrook faced the prospect of playing 40 minutes plus stoppage time with 10 men and this would allow Staveley to get on top as they dominated the possession. However they failed to create any meaning full chances until the 82nd minute when a cross from the left found Archie White in the box who saw his shot brilliantly saved by Harrison Kissane. However he couldn’t keep hold of the ball and the rebound fell to Tom Wood who smashed the ball into the bottom corner.
The win was secured two miutes later when Wood had an easy tap in after a clearance by Kissane hit his own team mate in the back and loop back over Kissane’s head for Wood to finish.
