Film academy explores possibility of expansion into Mansfield

Bosses at a new film and acting academy which launches in January next year are assessing the posibility of also opening in Mansfield.

Motion Film Academy is preparing to give young people aged 11–17 the opportunity to explore the worlds of filmmaking and screen acting and learn practical skills while creating their own films.

Unlike traditional performing arts schools, which often teach acting and filmmaking separately, Motion Film Academy brings the two disciplines together.

The Chesterfield-based academy will be led by filmmaker Stanley Roubaix, an experienced feature film director and professional actor with extensive experience across film and media production.

Now the academy is exploring the possibility of bringing the same opportunity to Mansfield, with interested people in the area being urged to register their interest to establish if the project is viable.
