Bolsover community officers hit the streets to reassure residents
Members of Bolsover Community Safety Partnership were out and about to hear concerns from residents and businesses during a series of community engagement events.

Representatives from the partnership, including from Bolsover District Council’s community safety team, Derbyshire Constabulary’s Safer Neighbourhood Teams, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and Derbyshire Victim Services, were on hand during Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week.
Nine events took place, including static sessions and pro-active walkabouts, where local people could relay any concerns and find out how to report issues.

Team members attended Bolsover Gala, as well as an anti-social behaviour hotspot walk in South Normanton, followed by a community engagement event at the village’s Post Mill Centre.
Representatives also attended a coffee morning at Blackwell Community Centre and a community engagement event at Morrisons Bolsover, joined by Derbyshire’s Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner, Dr Fatima Eltinay.
Anti-social behaviour hotspot walks also took place in Creswell, Shirebrook, New Houghton, Glapwell, Tibshelf, Blackwell and Newton, with the week ending with a community engagement event at Bolsover District Council’s headquarters, The Arc, in Clowne.
Councillor Clive Moesby is Bolsover District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Resources, including the authority’s community safety and enforcement team, and chair of the community safety partnership.
He said: “Our walkabouts and static engagement events illustrated the importance of being more visible to the public and offering another way of engaging with residents.
“It’s vital to boost public trust so that residents and business representatives feel confident in approaching our teams to report crime, anti-social behaviour and environmental issues that affect them.
“Together, we can all play our part in making the Bolsover district a safer, more enjoyable place to live, work and socialise.”

The Partnership is made up of organisations including Bolsover District Council, Derbyshire Police, Derbyshire County Council, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, Probation Services, Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board and additional discretionary partners including commissioned service providers, community groups and the voluntary sector.
