X Factor star Jake Quickenden turns down Trinity move

Gainsborough Trinity have failed in their attempt to sign reality television star Jake Quickenden.

The club had expressed interest in signing the 26 year old, who was runner-up in this year’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! and has also performed on the X Factor.

However, Quickenden has decided against a move to the Conference North club.

A spokesperson for the star said: “After being approached by Gainsborough Trinity Jake has politely declined their offer.

“I can confirm however that Jake has been approached by other football clubs and his management are in talks with them.

“Right now his focus is on his music and presenting.”

Quickenden began his football career as a youth player at Scunthorpe United and went on to play for Frickley Athletic in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League.

The forward recently played for Bottesford Town in the Tool Station Northern Counties East Football League.
