From watching Stags, complaining about the weather, to ‘ducks’, swans and reading your Chad…
Here are nine things that make you a ‘proper’ Mansfield person, in our humble opinion.
5. Used 'duck' as an affectionate term
It's a well-known phrase used in the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire area. It is actually suggested that people once called each other 'duke' - in the way that friends today refer to each other as 'boss' or 'chief' - and that this overtime became 'duck'. Photo: Andrea Barthorpe
6. Taken photos of swans and shared them on Facebook
Whether you're on Warsop Carrs or at King's Mill Res, I bet all Mansfield residents have taken at least one photo of a swan and shared it to a Facebook community group. And why not? They are beautiful. Keep sharing. Photo: Michael Parrott
7. Shopped at Mansfield Four Seasons
It is a right of passage. Whether it is Christmas shopping, treating yourself or picking up your essentials. We've all shopped here. Pictured; Mansfield Four Seasons Shopping Centre. Photo: Chris Etchells
8. Had a photo with this giant hand
I am sure many of you have had a photo here or at least taken a photo of a loved one by the iconic hand. The golden hand is located at Vicar Water Country Park, Clipstone. The 10ft statue was commissioned around 20 years ago by national cycling group Sustrans for National Cycle Network. Photo: Andrew Buck
