But the Mansfield and Ashfield area is hardly sleepwalking into summer either. It is alive and kicking with a variety of events, things to do and places to go.

9. More jubilee fun at Rufford
The Platinum Jubilee celebrations are still going on at Rufford Abbey, where a fun and interactive trail for the kids continues on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 10. Make your own jewellery
It's time to get creative at The Harley Gallery on the Welbeck Estate this Saturday afternoon. For the gallery's Makers Club is hosting a session on how to create one-off, wearable art or jewellery from objects you have found or old materials.
