Lorenzo Clark, Everyone Active’s contract manager, said: “We’re very much looking forward to reopening our centres and welcoming back the local community.

“The latest step in the Government’s roadmap is a positive move forward for the leisure industry.

“Ensuring our colleagues and customers remain safe continues to be our number one priority and we have carefully considered the strict measures to ensure we adhere to the guidance.

“We will be contacting all customers directly over the coming days regarding the reopening of centres.”

Theresa Hodgkinson, director of place and communities at Ashfield District Council, said: “We know how many people value sports and fitness as an important part of their lives, so it will be great to see our leisure centres open their doors again.

“However, we understand that Covid-19 has not disappeared and we must therefore be vigilant and follow the rules in place.

“We have been working closely with our leisure contractors Everyone Active to get the centres ready to reopen and strict measures are in place to ensure their cleanliness and safety.”
