Many of you will be off on holiday, maybe to the coast, maybe abroad, maybe both! But for those of you staying at home this weekend, we’ve compiled our usual guide to things to do and places to go.
Open-air theatre or cinema seems to be the theme for the weekend, with shows at Selston Country Park and Newstead Abbey.
The Robin Hood Festival continues at Sherwood Forest, while just down the road, Nottingham’s Wollaton Park hosts the much-anticipated return of the music festival, Splendour.
Add a dalliance with nature, a tribute to Fleetwood Mac and the launch of a new sport, disc golf, and it’s clear there's lots going on!
Before you visit a venue, please check its website for admission prices and opening times.
Have a great weekend!

5. Open-air theatre at Newstead
There are few more pleasant settings for open-air theatre than Byron's ancestral home, Newstead Abbey, amid its beautiful ruins and manicured gardens. So you'll be delighted to know that the abbey stages its third performance of the summer next Wednesday evening when Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night' takes to the stage. Take your own seats and rugs. 7. Explore The Hermitage
King's Mill Viaduct, a grade II listed structure, dating back to 1817, is one of the highlights of a visit to The Hermitage, the latest local nature reserve in Mansfield to come under our spotlight. The site is dominated by the disused millpond of Hermitage Mill, which is surrounded by woodland. A total of 42 species of bird, from kingfisher to bullfinch, have been recorded. Photo: Submitted
