It was the news that many were waiting for, after month upon month of being stuck at home with no holidays to sunnier climes to plan for, or look forward to.
The announcement was made by Prime Minister Boris Johnson earlier this week, who confirmed that if all goes to plan, international travel will be permitted once more from May 17 this year.
Since then, travel websites have seen a huge surge in the number of people booking flights, with some airlines reporting a spike of as much as 500 per cent.
