The Village Screen has been popping up to show movies at unusual places, such as the outdoor pool in Hathersage, Ecclesall Woods and Castleton's Peak Cavern, since 2015.

Over the past five years the venture has gained momentum, with screenings being held across the country for tens of thousands of people.

Earlier this year organisers came up with a socially-distanced way of showing movies by launching the Drive Thru Cinema, and the first events in Sheffield took place at the Kenwood Hall Hotel in Nether Edge in summer.

Now a seasonal version is set to take place in the grounds of Gulliver’s Valley, in Rotherham, in December when lockdown restrictions are expected to have been eased enough to allow household ‘bubbles’ to attend.

Street food from Sheffield catering company PJ Taste will be on offer, along with a menu of winter drinks and treats such as hot chocolate and mulled wine. There will be musical entertainment from a DJ, too.
