While this empty calendar has come about for completely understandable public health reasons, the Government’s roadmap to ending lockdown restrictions has finally offered a glimmer of hope that a significant return to normality may be on the cards this summer, if the vaccine rollout continues to succeed and there are no unforeseen setbacks.
Importantly, most social contact rules could be eased outdoors from May 17, according to the official plan, while ‘all legal limits on social contact’ could be removed from June 21.
This bodes well for events in Sheffield and the Peak District that have their dates in the warmer months. Here are 10 of the best to look forward to.

Tramlines, the Sheffield music festival, is set to return to Hillsborough Park from July 23 to 25. 5. The Folk Forest

6. Peak District Challenge

8. Bears of Sheffield
First there was the Herd of Sheffield - a trail of elephant sculptures that were displayed in a citywide trail then auctioned off for charity - and now there are the Bears of Sheffield, set to launch in July.
