MANSFIELD Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society will be recreating the lives of the von Trapp family and their governess Maria in a new production of The Sound of Music.
The Rodgers and Hammerstein classic will be performed at Mansfield’s Palace Theatre from 7th until 11th March and will include favourites such as Do-Re-Mi, Climb Ev’ry Mountain, Maria, My Favourite Things and many more.
Set in the Austrian Alps, the show tells the tale of the music-loving young nun Maria who leaves the convent to become a governess to Captain von Trapp’s children. She uses music to win over the children and von Trapp before they have to make a dramatic escape.
The show starts at 7.15pm and there is a matinee at 2.30pm on 10th and 11th March.
Tickets are priced at £10 and £9 for concessions, which are available for every performance apart from Saturday evening.
