Starting from the famous plague village of Eyam, we head past Riley Graves enjoying spectacular views of Coombs Dale

We then walk through a woodland area and take a footpath down to Stoney Middleton. After crossing a main road, we take a footpath by the Moon Inn taking us to the start of beautiful Coombs Dale. We could be in luck and see some wild orchids.

The path takes us steadily uphill through the dale and Rough Side bringing us to Black Harry Gate where we will enjoy a 20 minute break.

We continue along the track around Blakedown Hollow and as we reach the top of a rise we are treated to more wonderful views, before proceeding onto Longstone Moor, which is a limestone heath area.

When we reach the cairn at the highest point of the moor we will take another break in order to absorb more picturesque scenery.

Onward then across the moor and down through Black Plantation. We then take a permissive path to Moor Lane and on to the magnificent Longstone Edge with good views including Monsal Head.

Our route now takes us across fields to Bleaklow Farm, then past High Rake quarry and follow the path across the shoulder of Calver Peak.

We finish by descending to the beautiful village of Calver, with its lovely stone buildings.

We take a footpath by the village hall through a field to the River Derwent and are drawn towards the Bridge Inn at Calver Bridge.

The coach will pick us up at the lay-by near the Inn, leaving for home at 5.45pm.

In the morning, the coach departs from "The Staff Of Life pub in Sutton-in-Ashfield at 9.17am and from the Bancroft Lane end of Stockwell Gate outside Asda in Mansfield at 9.30am. There are other pick up points en route.

The coach fare is £14, accompanied juniors free.
