MUSIC icon Lionel Richie is returning to Nottingham as part of his new Tuskegee Tour - and Chad has teamed up with the Capital FM Arena to give away a pair of tickets.
In what is his first European tour since 2009, Lionel, who is now 63, will be appearing in Nottingham on Wednesday 3rd October.
His new show will deliver a mix of material from a 30 plus year career including tracks from the Commodores’ and Lionel’s solo back catalogue.
Lionel’s current album, Tuskegee, is a worldwide hit, claiming the No. 1 spot for two consecutive weeks on the USA’s Billboard Top 200 albums chart and hitting No. 1 on the Canadian albums chart. It is a Top 20 album in 10 countries and a Top 10 hit in the United Kingdom, Denmark, Holland, Australia, Hong Kong and Sweden.
It features 13 of his biggest hits recorded as country duets with artists including Shania Twain, Willie Nelson and Kenny Chesney.
And it has even resulted in Lionel being nominated for his first-ever Country Music Award for his ‘Stuck on You’ duet with Darius Rucker.
He said following his nomination: “I am thrilled to receive my first nomination from the CMA. I am so grateful to the country music community for embracing this project and making me feel so at home.”
Lionel’s Tuskegee tour takes him right across Europe, with 35 shows in 19 countries.
Many of his UK dates have already sold out, and after he proclaimed to have had ‘the best night of his life’ at his Nottingham date back in 2009, the show at the Capital FM Arena is set to be one of the hottest concerts this autumn.
