TOP-SELLING artist Will Young is to star at Sherwood Pines next summer, forestry chiefs have announced.
The singer-songwriter - who shot to fame by winning Pop Idol in 2002 - will perform in a spectacular, natural auditorium in the stunning 3,000-acre woodland, near Clipstone, on 15th June.
Said organiser Chris Bray, of the Forestry Commission: “In a little over a decade Will Young has proved himself a massively popular singer and multi-talented artist. His Sherwood gig will be a brilliant occasion.”
The news comes just a week after the Forestry Commission announced that Ben Drew, of Plan B, will also make his Sherwood debut as part of a mid-summer weekend of live music.
Tickets for the Will Young gig go on sale on Friday from the Forestry Commission box office on 03000 680400 or online at www.forestry.gov.uk/music.
