MANSFIELD band Vespa are set to release their debut album this summer and follow it up with a tour starting at Liverpool’s famous Cavern Club.
The four-piece group, who describe their music as indie melodic rock n’roll will be releasing their debut album, Storm is Breaking, online on 4th June and it will be available from the shops later in the summer.
Lead singer Dan Brudzinski says that he and fellow band members are excited about how their first album sounds and they are looking forward to touring in the coming weeks.
“We’re relieved to get the album out and completely happy with how it sounds, we had an LP out a few years ago but this feels like a real breakthrough and we can’t wait to get on the road,” he said.
“The album sounds really great live, it is mainly guitar and piano based so it’s easy to get out there so we’re looking forward to playing it to people and we’re in the process of setting up a few more tour dates at the moment.”
The album’s stand out tracks include Shouting from the Rooftops and Middle of the Open Road and Dan says the band were pleasantly surprised with the sounds which came out of the studio after several weeks of recording.
“We recorded the album in just a few weeks and then it was mixed, we went into the studio wanting to thrash out a rock record but some of the stuff came out differently, some of the tracks are more piano based but we had really good producers and are pleased with how well it came out,” added Dan.
Vespa kick off their tour at The Cavern Club in Liverpool tomorrow and will be playing a hometown gig at Mansfield’s Rufford Arms pub on 29th June where they will be supporting Oasis tribute band Noasis.
