THE new season of blues night concerts at Kirkby’s Miller’s Snooker Club gets underway next month.
Shows begin on 1st September with local favourites ‘The Mick Rutherford Band’. Mick has been around the music scene since the 60s when he sang with Alexis Korner’s Blues Incorporated.
There will be a welcome return by Scottish Blues Rock, ‘The Nimmo Brothers’ on 15th September, while on 29th September Texan bluesman Eugene ‘Hideaway’ Bridges will be on stage.
Eugene is a multi award-winning and nominated musician including a double nomination in this year’s Blues Foundation awards.
And the big acts continue at the club in October, with 13th October seeing the much requested return of Australian guitarist Geoff Achison, the winner of the Blues Foundations Albert King Guitarist award.
And on 27th October Chantel McGregor’s makes a first visit to Miller’s since the release of her debut CD which received wide acclaim from the music press.
‘King King’ will return on 24th November and Miller’s autumn season closes on 8th December with a performance by Earl Jackson.
