Is Fortnite down right now? Server issue latest and when it will be back
Fortnite is down for the latest update - but when will it be back? 🎮
- Fortnite is down for its latest update.
- Hundreds of players reporting server problems.
- But when can you play the game again?
One of the most popular online video games is ‘down’ for many gamers. Fortnite players are experiencing problems with the servers this morning (November 11).
The mega-popular title can occasionally have woes with its servers, but it does not usually last particularly long. Downdetector saw a spike of problems being logged just before 9am UK time.
But what are the issues right now? Here’s all you need to know:
Is Fortnite down right now?
The iconic battle royale game has recently changed its map to one inspired by the Simpsons, which has gone down very well with players. Gamers are able to run around in a digital recreation of Springfield and see all the sites - including of course Homer and Marge’s house.
Unfortunately, players who are logging in this morning (November 11) are experiencing troubles with the servers around 9am British time. Downdetector started to see a spike in issues being logged in the last 30 minutes, at the time of writing.
The vast majority of problems being flagged are with server connection, although 20% have reported issues with game play.
What has caused Fortnite to go down?
The reason for the current outage is due to the game having ‘down time’ to allow for the latest update. FNAssist on X (Twitter) explains: “Downtime for the #Fortnite v38.10 update begins now! Stay tuned for any updates or news from this patch shortly.”
Fortnite Status warned that the down time would start at 4am ET - which is 9am British time. The exact length it will take for the update to come in has not been confirmed, but expect it to last at least a little while.
