Weekend to remember

Over the course of Friday, August 26, and Saturday, August 27, you can enjoy bands galore at an eagerly-awaited event, hosted by Lord Bishop Rocks.

Lord Bishop Rocks, originally from New York, are hailed as the most exciting and musically gifted rock trio of the 21st century.

They are mixing their brand of 70s-influenced hard rock, funk, blues, jazz, reggae and punk into a sound they call Hendrixian Motör Funk.

There have been many trios before them: Cream, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Blue Cheer, Nirvana, Motörhead, Muse, Them Crooked Vultures, Green Day – all of these groups stand out because they brought a new life and a new perspective in how to make sonic expression in rock music.

Lord Bishop Rocks have lifted this stylistic template to new stratospheric levels. Imagine Beatlesque melodies, Sabbath’s heaviness and James Brown’s funk all rolled into one.

What is for sure is that, sooner than later, Lord Bishop Rocks will be rock music’s most well known and sought after pure rock trio in the history of the music world.

Lord Bishop Rocks are no stranger to the venue, having played the Black Market way back in 2008 and have returned every year since, bringing with them emerging talent from throughout Eastern and Western Europe, and developing the Insane Rock Festival along the way.

Also appearing there on Friday, August 26, will be Witch Tripper, Hugo Steady, One Step To The Abyss and Boo (formerly Lord Bishop Acoustic).

As if all that wasn’t enough to whet the appetite of music fans in the area, on Saturday, August 27, there will be sets from Fiona’s Run, Coraya, DC Spectres, Liberator, Hollywood Pops and The Ribble Valley Express.
