A Forestry Commission spokesman said: “Jake has sold more than a million records and travelled the world.

“On the song On my One, from his eagerly awaited next album, Jake sings ‘I’m just a poor boy from Nottingham’, ‘three years on the road, 400, where do I call home’.

“Now his rootsy blues guitar and vocals are coming back home to Nottinghamshire.”

Jake’s third album, named On My One, is due for release just six days before his Sherwood Pines show.

The spokesman said: “On my One will further bolster Bugg’s reputation as an authentic modern bluesman.”

Jake is the third act confirmed for Forest Live at Sherwood Pines this summer.

Already lined up for the venue are Elbow frontman Guy Garvey, on Saturday, June 25, and Sheffield’s Paul Heaton, with Jacqui Abbott, on Friday, June 24.
