Fun for youngsters at McArthur Glen in August

McArthurGlen Designer Outlet East Midlands at South Normanton will be filling the days during August with a jam-packed programme of fun, full of arts and crafts activities to keep children busy throughout the summer holidays.

From now until August 31, the centre will be hosting free daily children’s activities and entertainment that will take place across the centres, including storytelling, face painting, creative crafts and crazy golf for all the family to enjoy.

The centre is creating a ‘Summer Garden’ with deckchairs and picnic tables. The garden will have giant Jenga, Connect 4, giant building blocks and giant chess.

Children can also join in the Animal Trail, which will test their powers of observation to see if they can spot the animals hiding in windows around the centre.

Guests who pick up an entry form at the Visitor Information Centre will get a golden ticket which can be exchanged for a treat.

The end of the summer doesn’t mean the end of the fun, the August Bank Holiday weekend will see a celebration to launch late night shopping which will include the centre’s resident caricaturist (in centre from 11am-4pm) as well as musical entertainment from the jazz trio All That Jazz. (August 27-28)

Create and Craft - Every Monday 11am – 4pm.

Glue and glitter galore – let the little ones get creative with throughout the summer, with a different theme each week inspired by the great British Garden. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis:

Face Painting - Every Tuesday. From butterflies to beasts and fairy queens to superheroes, fabulous face painter Lisa will be in centre every Tuesday throughout the summer. Find her in the Food Court.

Story Time at Pizza Express. Every Wednesday 10am – 11am. If you go down to the centre today, you’re in for a big surprise. Fun tales will be shared every Wednesday morning – why not come dressed up as your favourite character?

Have Your Caricature Drawn By Resident Caricaturist. Every Thursday, 11:30am – 4pm.
