6. Ways Mansfield has been spelt
Mansfield has been spelt Mammesfeld in The Domesday Book in 1086, Maunnesfeld in 1227 and Mannesfeld in 1377 in an warrant by King Richard II.
7. Mansfield Palace Theatre wasn't a theatre
The Palace Theatre in Leeming Street was built as a cinema in 1910 and originally known as Palace Electric Theatre. It was later adapted as a theatre and called the Civic Hall and Civic Theatre before becoming the Palace Theatre in 1995.

One Call Stadium or Field Mill is not only home to Mansfield Town FC but is the oldest ground in the Football League, hosting football since 1861.
