In the first galas of the new season, Sutton Swimming Club started as they mean to go on as their B team were crowned champions of the Sports Centre League's Third Division.

Sutton B made it a clean sweep of four victories from four league galas and were duly promoted to Division Two. In the final gala, held at Hucknall Leisure Centre, they amassed a total of 176 points, fully 39 clear of runners-up Ilkeston, with Arnold third on 134.

Two of the squad’s most experienced swimmers, 17-year-old Sophie Bunker and 16-year-old Liam Marsh, received the champions award.
