After months of training six took part in the Greater Manchester Marathon.

With an early start of 9am, good weather conditions, and a well organised race it meant for fast times.

On a wet and miserable morning five Sutton Harriers ran the Derby 10k from Pride Park with about 4000 other runners.

On a relatively flat course everyone got off to a flying start. First Harrier home was Nick Luke (39mins 57secs), followed by Claire Watson in a personal best time of 44m 04s, Catherine Davies (45m 02s), Ken Hensby (51m 15s) and Andrew Longmead (56m46s).

Sue Lomas, after weeks of training took part in the Lincoln 10k race. Billed as a flat fast course with Pbs in it, over 5,000 runners saw the start was massively congested and, once Sue had started it was impossible to maintain a constant pace.

She pushed and shoved her way through the race, finishing in 55mins 38secs.
