Success on a Plate for Mansfield RUFC's U15 girls
The flourishing success of Mansfield Rugby Club's girls' section was underlined when their U15s' team lifted the RFU Area Plate.
Mansfield beat Old Northamptonians 20-15 on aggregate in a two-legged final to cap a season that has seen another massive step forward in the players’ development. A total of 12 players were selected for the Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire squad, while four represented the Midlands and one gained England recognition.
Club spokeswoman Lisa Hutchinson said: “We only started U15 girls’ rugby two years ago, so to achieve a success like the Area Plate so quickly is a fantastic achievement. Praise should go to the players, the coaching staff and everyone at the club for all their hard work.”
