The home side were all out for just 92 in 28.4 overs, having to answer to the bowling of Steve Wright 5 for 24) and James Johnstone (3 for 29). Tim Green then eased Southwell towards an easy victory in the 29th over with an innings of 57.

Kirkby Portland move into second in Division C following a fourth straight win. It was a case of ‘After the Lord Mayor’s show for home side Thurgarton, following up their 282 for 5 with just 149 with Jason Caunt (3 for 32) enjoying the bowler friendly conditions.

A typically aggressive innings of 48 from son Joe paved the way for a six wicket win with skipper Steve Richardson (20*) finishing the job off.

There was a much needed win for Newstead Abbey and Village who successfully defended 137 at Attenborough (127), thanks to four wickets for Andy Paulson and two apiece for Nick Rose and Rob Casterton.

Keyworth went top of Division D and they could even afford to have Ian Graham (58*) retiring hurt at Southwell II.

Richard Drury (61*) kept up the good work and 229 was set for victory.

The losers were never at the races and three wickets each for Steve Rendu and Dave Strong and two for Rob Baker and Dave Hiller saw Southwell crumble to 52 all out.
