Six regional swim finals and a silver and bronze

Sutton Swimming Club youngster Chloe Quinn had a busy time at the East Midlands Regional Championships.

Chloe, 14, competed in nine individual events and qualified for six finals — winning a silver and a bronze medal.

The teenager, representing Nova Centurion, also featured in two team relay events.

The championships, primarily for swimmers aged 14 and above, was held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

Chloe was one of 19 Sutton SC members at the competition. Hollie-Mae Dove won a silver and a bronze, while Matthew Woodhall won a silver.

In the 14/15 years 400m freestyle, Chloe swam 4-43-05 in the heats to finish 12th. She improved her time to 4-41-57 and was sixth in the final — the second-placed 14-year-old.

In the 100m backstroke heats she swam a personal best 1-11-33 to qualify sixth fastest for the final, where she was 10th.

In the 200m butterfly final Chloe improved on her heat time to finish fourth in 2-34-13. She was 11th in the freestyle heats.

On day two, Chloe was 10th in the 200m freestyle final, after having little time to recover following her first ever Nova relay swim.

She improved her personal best to finish fourth in the 200m backstroke in 2-30-21.

On day three Chloe was 12th in the 50m backstroke in 34-51.

She claimed her first regional medal, a bronze, in the 800m freestyle in 9-43-75. Chloe then won silver with the Nova A team in the 14-16 years 4x200m freestyle relay, swimming the third leg in 2-14-44.

She finished the competition on a high with a personal best of 29-03 in the 50m freestyle heats, but withdrew from the final.
