Shirebrook returned to action wiht a 1-1 draw at Dronfield Town.

As the game got underway it was a very quiet opening 20 minutes with neither goalkeeper having anything of note to deal with.

But the game sprung into life in the 26th minute when Dronfield took the lead after Max Rhodes played the ball through to Arthur Pashley to stab the ball home past Harrison Kissane.

Shirebrook's first real chance of note didn’t arrive until the half hour mark when Nathan Clarke forced a save from Lewis Naylor.

Dronfield had two brilliant chance to extend their lead with both falling to Pashley.

Whatever had been said to the Shirebrook players during the break managed to do the trick because Shirebrook came out a completely different side in the second 45 minutes.

They showed their intent in the opening five minutes of the half as Nathan Clarke and Liam Widdowson both had chances to get Shirebrook on the score sheet.

In the 56th minute Shirebrook did level when Josh Tate scored from the edge of the box.

Shirebrook set about trying to win the game and they had two brilliant chances as Kian Tansley saw a free kick brilliantly saved by Lewis Naylor and Liam Widdowson also saw a shot go just wide of the post.

However Shirebrook had a big let off in the 86th minute when Matty Ord’s turn and left-footed shot rebounded back of the post from the edge of the box.

It was Shirebrook who finished the game on the front foot as Ihor Zhydkov fired over the bar in the dying minutes and that was followed by fellow substitute Tom McNally blasting wide shortly after but Shirebrook couldn’t find a winning goal and would have to settle for a point.
