Sherwood swimmers end the year in style

Sherwood Colliery Swimming Club rounded off the year in style with a superb display in their own annual Club Championships.

Held over three weekends, swimmers between the ages of five and 50 years old kept the statisticians busy with a total of 47 new club records and many individual personal best, county and Midland regional qualifying times.

Oldest competitors, 50-year-old Sue Day, Gail Wheatley (48) and Mark Pring (46), lined up as eight-year-olds Olivia Barrett, Isabel Fletcher and Charles Austin became the youngest new record holders, setting 12 new records between them.
