Selston suffer title blow as Town hit four in second-half

Selston suffered a big blow to their title hopes as they fell to a surprise 4-0 defeat at home to mid-table Bilborough on Saturday.

The game was goalless at half-time but Bilborough took the lead early in the second period as Tariq Nadif fired home from 18 yards.

Nadif then added a second nine minutes later before Dean Bensley headed home from a corner on 72.

Jack Nicholson then rounded the win off a minute from time.

Selston remain top of the league but West Bridgford remain second, just a point behind and with two games in hand, Wollaton also ready to pounce being four points behind with four games in hand.

It was a bad day at the office for Awsworth Villa as they were crushed 11-1 at Burton Joyce.

In Division Two, third-placed Underwood Villa earned a 1-1 draw with second-placed Ruddington Villa Reserves, a result that did little to assist either side in pursuing leaders Newark Flowserve, Josh Hunt scoring for Villa who have five games in hand on Flowserve and are ten points behind.

Division Two saw second-placed Watnall Athletic suffer a 5-0 loss at third-place Bilborough United to seriously dent their title hopes.

Underwood Villa Reserves, meanwhile, drew 2-2 at home to Nottinghamshire Reserves thanks to goals from Tyler Farnsworth and Ashley Foster.
