Chris Clements has been snapped up by one of the Stags’ League Two rivals, Cheltenham Town, on a short-term deal.

The 28-year-old, who was a free agent, made 132 appearances for Mansfield, scoring ten goals, between 2012 and 2017 and was a key figure in the side that won the National League (Conference) title in 2013.

After leaving the One Call Stadium, Clements moved on to Grimsby Town, but played only 16 times for them before drifting back into the non-league game with Barrow, where he was re-united with former Stags boss Paul Cox, and then having a loan spell at Forest Green Rovers.
