Clipstone concede double figures in heavy defeat to Maltby

Clipstone were condemned to their second consecutive heavy home defeat on Tuesday night when Maltby Main put double figures past them in a 10-3 rout.

Cobras led 2-1 thanks to goals from Blessing Adeleye and Tom Gledhill but were unable to hold on to this advantage, going in at the break 3-2 down.

Maltby, fifth in the NCEL Premier, then flexed their muscles with a further two early in the second half before Adeleye got his second of the game.

At 5-3, it was as close as the Cobras came to their opponents with Maltby scoring another five in the final 14 minutes of the match, as the home defence crumbled.

Clipstone host Hall Road Rangers on Saturday 10th March (3pm kick off).
