Rising triathlon star Emily set to upstage her dad

Emily triumphed at Southwell and followed up with a podium place at Lincoln where she won her age group.

Noe she is in pole position to top her age category in the East Midlands Sprint Triathlon Series, with the final race coming up next month at Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire.

Emily’s dad, Tony, is currently placed second in the same race series after fine performances at both Southwell, where his bike was sixth fastest, and Lincoln, where his bike was eighth fastest.

The club is hoping for a series podium hat-trick, courtesy of Cormac Allison, who is third in his age group, racing in the colours of Nottingham Trent University.

Also racing at Southwell were Kahli Johnaon, who was fourth in his age group, and Stephen Fowkes, who was eighth in his age group.

Fowkes was in action too in the April Trust 10K at Clumber Park, along with clubmates Daniel and Katy Wilson, who went on to tackle the Tour Of Retford Amstel Standing Cycle Spotive.

At the Carsington Duathlon, Michelle Willcocks was the first female home, fully five-and-a-half minutes ahead of her closest rival. She was 17th overall and topped her age group. And there was victory too for Chris Holmes in the University Of Nottingham GO TRI Aquabike event as he completed the 200m swim and 9km bike-ride in just 21 minutes, 49 seconds.
