RACING TIP OF THE DAY

TROPICS
Ascot 3.15 WIN
Every punter’s nightmare is about to strike because heavy rain is forecast to fall just before and during today’s main cards at Ascot and Newmarket. Quite how much and how it might affect the ground is impossible to calculate, but clearly it might trigger a posse of non-runners and alter the shapes of races and markets. In such circumstances, the safest bet could be Dean Ivory’s admirable sprinter who bids to land this Group Three 6f contest for the second successive season. He relishes cut in the ground, he always runs well at Ascot and considering he is also the clear form pick, an overnight price of 11/2 is perfectly acceptable. He did disappoint last time, but was far too keen, so he’s re-fitted with a hood, which should help him to settle. Ed Walker’s unexposed three-year-old, LIGHTNING MOON, is the main danger.
Elsewhere, in the big two-year-old Sales races, check out BALLYMORE CASTLE at Newmarket (2.20) and KASB at Redcar (3.05).
