Golfer Lee Westwood is busy preparing for this weekend’s Ryder Cup. But he will be hoping to hole a winner with this two-year-old colt he owns in partnership with his agent, Chubby Chandler.

The athletic juvenile has not been seen since May, while his veteran trainer, 81-year-old Mick Easterby, is not in the best of form.

But providing the ground does not become too testing, the cheaply-bought son of Pastoral Pursuits could still be good enough to land what is a modest contest.

On his sole start, he showed immense promise when travelling extremely well to finish second in a little novice race at York.

Not given a hard time, he looked just the sort to improve for the outing and it was encouraging, after the race, to hear the trainer’s son nominate the sprint-bred colt as one to follow.
