RACELINE: TIP OF THE DAY Friday 1st February

Our resident tipster, Scoop Racing (Richard Silverwood), advised his third winner on the trot yesterday when Sydney Paget bolted up at Towcester. Here’s hoping for more of the same today.

Friday February 1

DREAMS OF MILAN

Catterick 3.20 WIN

Overloaded with talent and potential, this must be one of the best, most competitive novice hurdles to have been staged in the north all season. Up to six or seven could win it, but after a few short-priced winners in recent days, I’m plumping for a bit of value with Donald McCain’s tough and genuine five-year-old. After just missing out in a Bumper at Uttoxeter on his UK debut, he returned to the same track to win handsomely at the first time of asking over hurdles. As an ex-point-to-point winner in Ireland, he will eventually make a nice staying chaser. But for now, he can put his stamina to good use by defying a penalty and a two-month break.

YESTERDAY: SYDNEY PAGET WON (4/5)

WEDNESDAY: BUDDY BOLERO WON (10/11)

TUESDAY: NO SELECTION (meetings abandoned)

MONDAY: NO SELECTION (meetings abandoned)

SUNDAY: PONT ALEXANDRE WON

SATURDAY: THE NEW ONE 2ND

FRIDAY: SUERTE AL SALTO 2ND
