Perera's double rescue not enough for Millers

The Millers, invited to bat first, were reduced to 29 for three early on as Sam Routledge, Joseph Worrall and Mark Hallam all struck.

Savin Perera, batting at number three, remained, however, and led two recoveries.

Perera and captain Mark Smallwood added 46 for the fourth wicket with Smallwood hitting four boundaries in his 21 from 28 balls.

Three more wickets fell quickly to leave the visitors in trouble on 115 for seven.

Daniel Kilvington joined Perera and they put on 65, helping Hosiery Mills to reach 188 for nine from their 50 overs.

Kilvington struck31 batting at number nine, while Perera hit seven fours in his 73 from 110 balls.

In reply, Matthew Sisson made a rapid start, hitting six fours and two sixes in his 49 that dominated an opening stand of 58.

His partner, Steven Musgrove, played an anchor role, then adding 43 for the second wicket with Solomon Budinger (19).

Musgrove continued to pave the way to victory in a third-wicket partnership of 80 with Callum McKenzie (37 not out). Musgrove was eventually dismissed for 43 from 85 balls, but Farnsfield won in the 30th over.
