All tee-times were fully booked at Rufford Park Golf Club with golfers keen to take the greens once again.

Mansfield Lawn Tennis Club also introduced a special £20 adult membership covering the whole of April to encourage people back to the courts.

The Pheasant Hill -based club will be running four social tennis sessions per week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, so there will be plenty of opportunity to have a hit with someone and get to know existing members.

Pete and Kath Toon were first on court at Mansfield Lawn Tennis Club after the latest lockdown restrictions were eased.

Those who decide to join the club for the new season - which runs from May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022 - will also have opportunity to play competitive tennis this summer as the Nottinghamshire Lawn Tennis Association local leagues have been revived.

“No competitive tennis was possible during 2020 but we are hopeful that the Notts summer league will get underway this time,” commented club membership secretary Helen Riby.

“We’ve entered three men’s teams, three ladies’ team and three mixed this time,” she adds.

The membership offer is available via the club’s website.

Rufford Park Golf Club re-opened on March 29.
