Nottinghamshire Mini League triumph for Mansfield Harriers juniors

Mansfield Harriers Juniors completed the Nottinghamshire Mini League at Rushcliffe Country Park by taking the grand slam, winning all five fixtures to take the league victory with the best result of the season at this fixture across the six competing age groups.

The Under-11 girls won the age group with Amelia Arbon third at Rushcliffe, followed by Lily Mason 5th, Charlie Whysall 9th, Zia Clayton-Wade 10th and Maisy Slack 11th. For the series Mason took individual silver and Arbon finished 4th and Whysall 7th.

On his debut for the Under-11 boys Eddie Lowe put in a terrific front running performance to win. Dan Adams was 4th, Henry Waller 14th, Mitchell Smith 20th, Harry Milnes 23rd, Finlay Strauther 24th, Charlie Taylor 36th, Oliver Buglass 48th and Joss Birchall 51st. Overall the team was 3rd with Adams and Waller 5th and 6th.

The Under-13 girls were second on the day and in the series. Ella Kennedy was 3rd, followed by Isabel Westwood 4th, Jemima Waller 6th and Freya Longmead 8th. Westwood took the series bronze with Kennedy 4th, Waller 5th, Zoe Spencer 6th and Longmead 8th.

Jude Ryan, back to his best after illness, stormed to victory in the Under-13 boys as he took his fourth win in five races and individual gold.

Ed Sankey was 4th at Rushcliffe with Eddie Holden 6th, Matt Young 10th, James Flint 12th, Adam Hursthouse 13th and Will Sankey 14th. With Ryan taking the series gold, Sankey was 4th, Holden 5th and Young 10th.

The Under-15 girls were second on the day and second overall. Sophie Toyn had her best ever result to place third. Ruby Milnes was 4th, Caitlin Dodds 7th, Grace Manson 8th, Ava Blake 11th and Elizabeth Sinclair 19th. Overall Milnes was 4th, Manson 5th, Toyn 6th and Dodds 8th.

After a fine display at Rushcliffe, the Under-15 boys almost taking the league series, losing by three points. Jake Greenhalgh won the Rushcliffe race – as Mansfield had the race winner in all three boys’ events - for series silver. Johar Ali was 4th, Sam Knott 6th and Sam Wilkinson 10th. Knott was 5th overall and Ali 10th to go with Greenhalgh’s 2nd place.
