Richard Ollerenshaw’s team has given a thumbs-up to the six provisional dates unveiled so far as part of the revised calendar which has been enforced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Two further events are expected to be announced in due course by MSV and BRDC British F3, with the season currently scheduled to conclude in November at Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit.

As it stands, Oulton Park, Donington Park, Brands Hatch and Snetterton will feature on the new schedule.

Notably, all races on the provisional calendar will take place at UK circuits. This means British F3 competitors will be able to avoid any difficulties which may arise through the imposition of travel restrictions internationally, such as quarantine, while measures stay in place to tackle coronavirus.“It’s very good news for all of us within BRDC British F3, and for UK motorsport as a whole,” said team boss Ollerenshaw.

“Hillspeed is very supportive of everything BRDC British F3 and MSV are doing and we’re looking forward to going racing as soon as we possibly can.“With the championship set to race exclusively in the UK this year, it means we can avoid many of the difficulties which drivers may otherwise face when trying to travel internationally from venue to venue and country to country.”

During the next couple of months prior to the planned start of the delayed 2020 season, Hillspeed will be working to finalise its entry for BRDC British F3 in the squad’s Golden Anniversary year.

The team, which will field championship debutant Oliver Clarke, has two race-wining seats available.

“Obviously, the problems created by the COVID-19 pandemic have been devastating across the globe, but we very much hope we can now begin to finalise the 2020 team line-up with the new provisional calendar announced,” Ollerenshaw added.

“Drivers looking for the very best preparation and development, a race-winning team and a proven track record need look no further than Hillspeed.

“We’re very proud of what the team has achieved over the last 50 years and we’re focused on adding even more success – starting with this season.”

Set to begin over the weekend 1st/2nd August at Oulton Park in Cheshire, the provisional calendar then makes the first of two visits to Donington Park in Leicestershire on 15th/16th August.

Two weeks later, on 29th/30th August, the championship will visit Brands Hatch GP Circuit in Kent.

The return to Donington Park will follow on 19th/20th September ahead of a trip to Snetterton in Norfolk over the weekend 3rd/4th October. Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit is set to host the season finale on 7th/8th November, while two other events are also currently being finalised.

All six of the announced dates will see British F3 run as a co-headline category with the British GT Championship.
