The race is the premier event over 5K in the UK, taking place around the iconic Mall in Armagh.

In its 30th year, the race has a reputation for fast times with the 2020 edition being no exception as 150 men broke the 15-minute barrier.

Duffy took his place against the international high-quality field and put himself in the leading quarter of the field after the first lap.

Three more hard laps saw him move into the mid-40s and a superb last lap meant he pulled through to 39th place in a terrific time of 14.13.

This result placed Duffy ninth in the all-time under-20 road 5K rankings.

Lauren McNeil, racing in her second England cross-country appearance within a month, was seventh at the Belgium Cross Cup event at Rotselaar, Belgium.

Running in the under-20 age group and giving up to three years away, McNeil, who is still an under-17, came away with a superb seventh place.

Racing at the Midland Indoor Championship at Birmingham High Performance Centre, both Stef Wilcockson and Jessica Lake put in superb runs.

Wilcockson rolled back the years, recording 9.04 in his 60-metre hurdles, his fastest race at the distance for six years. In the under-20 race, Lake just missed out on a medal, coming fourth in 9.66 - only 0.2 of a second away from a regional bronze.
