The move comes on the back of an announcement this week by the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship of a revised 24-race post-lockdown calendar.

Since welcoming the planned six date provisional schedule which was originally revealed last month, British F3 has now added a seventh event – an additional visit to Donington Park, Hillspeed’s ‘home’ circuit, for the penultimate race meeting of the season at the end of October.

With the important caveat of all dates remaining provisional subject to any developments linked to the coronavirus pandemic, team principal of Markham Vale-based Hillspeed, Richard Ollerenshaw, is delighted the start of the 2020 season looks to be just seven weeks away.

“We were very happy indeed with the provisional calendar announced by BRDC British F3 and MSV [MotorSport Vision] last month, but with an extra visit to Donington now included and confirmation of a full 24 race schedule we really are delighted with what’s being delivered,” he said.“We’re ramping up our preparations once again with the confirmation of the planned calendar, and so Hillspeed is welcoming interest from drivers who are looking to be back racing in one of the most competitive F3 championships in the world.”

The season is set to begin over the weekend 1st/2nd August at Oulton Park in Cheshire with a bumper four-race event.
