Roebuck, 30, who is a ten-times British champion, Commonwealth and European medallist as well as an Olympic semi-finalist, and Smith, 28, who is a Commonwealth medallist and World and Olympic finalist, have set up Swim Swift Elite which delivers educational and motivating masterclasses. In a three-hour session at Mansfield’s Water Meadows complex, they drew on all their elite-level experience and expertise to improve the youngsters’ techniques and skills.

The visit capped a memorable weekend for the club, who also posted some fine results in galas at Sharley Park and Hucknall. Seven swimmers enjoyed terrific success at the Rykneld Open Meet, which was held at the Chesterfield venue, with several top-three places secured, including four firsts for 13-year-old Fleur Beilby and one for ten-year-old Amelia Hargarve.
