TSCA Swords, based at Samworth Church Academy, will now be known as Mansfield Fencing Club. It will continue to provide lessons for the academy pupils, as well as open sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during term time. It caters for all, from children to adult beginners and experienced fencers.

Under the leadership of head coach Miroslaw Poplawski, the club continues to make its mark in competitive epee fencing. Club newcomer Elena Rainero has won gold medals at two open tournaments, with Giulano Punzo taking a bronze, while Sam Boyle and James Wake have earned international recognition. Elena, who has just moved to the area, says the club is “very friendly and well-organised”.
