Kyle Ryde looking to recreate perfect British Superbike opener with second Oulton Park spell

Kyle Ryde cleaned up the last time British Superbikes arrived at Oulton Park and he’s eager to add more wins to this season’s tally.

The Jacksdale rider continues to lead the ZYN British Superbike Championship standings, having finished on the podium in every single race so far this season.

Every race weekend edges Ryde closer to defending his title but he has faced pressure from Scott Redding and Bradley Ray in recent weeks. Just 19 points currently separate Ryde and second-placed Redding ahead of this weekend at Oulton Park – so the top of the standings certainly have room to shift around over the coming races.

Ryde is looking ahead to another round at the Cheshire circuit, having dominated there at the start of the season. The opening round saw the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing leader complete a perfect start with three wins from three.

Ryde has clinched 15 trophies from a possible 15 so far and banked his ninth and tenth wins of the season last time out at Brands Hatch. This weekend at Oulton Park will mark the halfway point in the season and the reigning champion is eager to keep this impressive streak going.

“Brands Hatch was obviously a great weekend overall – I still lead the championship and with an extra two points so that was a great weekend’s racing and I really enjoyed battling with Scott and Max,” Ryde told BSB. “It wasn’t easy! In the last race, I had a few issues that I think we have hopefully sorted for the forthcoming rounds of the season.

“I am looking forward to going back to Oulton Park where we had a brilliant weekend at the start of the season and the bike worked really well. I am not sure how it will work now as obviously things have changed a fair bit, but we know we can do well around there. So the weather looks alright and hopefully it stays like that and we should be good as we try to add to the 15 trophies we have already this year!”
