Kyle Ryde bidding to end season on a high

Jacksdale ace Kyle Ryde is hoping to bow out on a high when the finale of the British Supersport Championship takes place at Brands Hatch this weekend.

The 21-year-old Ryde travels to the famous Kent circuit on the back of a pleasing performance in the penultimate round at Assen in the Netherlands.

Having been kindly loaned a bike by the Halsall Racing team, he finished ninth in the sprint race and then tenth in the feature race in the 600cc Supersport class.

Ryde did well in the qualifying sessions, getting a better feel of the machine and getting it into sixth place on the grid.

The sprint race didn’t materialse as he had hoped after a battle with the usual rivals, but he hoped for an improvement in the feature event.

He was plagued by difficulties, which couldn’t be solved because there was no telemetry fitted to the bike. But after being trapped in the pack, he plugged on for a respectable finishing position. Ryde is now hoping his supporters will turn out in force at Brands Hatch
